Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVTLocation: Victoria, BCDepartment: NeurologyCentral Victoria Veterinary Hospital is welcoming an experienced, full-time, Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT, to join our Neurology Department!This role will work closely with our Neurologist and another RVT, to provide excellent care to patients and pet parents requiring this service. The successful candidate will possess exceptional patient care and technical skills (including anesthesia), as well as client communication skills. You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement on cases with various degrees of complexity; you will also have a board-certified anesthesiologist available to weigh in on protocols and procedures. Previous experience in a specialty neurology or surgery role would be an asset but is not required.Registered Veterinary Technologist or eligible to registerPerform clinical procedures; Venipuncture, Catheter placement, radiology, surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring and patient assessmentWilling to enhance technical skills; anesthesia, mechanical ventilatorsAbility to thrive in a steady and often fast-paced environmentSurgical preparation, assisting and patient recoveryAbility to keep detailed and accurate patient recordsCompassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parentsAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-findingExceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parentsPassion to learn more within the roleA love for all companion animals!!Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week. The department is currently open Monday through Thursday each week.Compensation: $19.00 to $38.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
