SummaryThe Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall operations of the classroom and provide a high quality of education and care for children.DutiesSupervise all classroom and outdoor activities, use positive discipline techniques to ensure the welfare, health and safety of the childrenGreet and address each child by name, treat all children, parents, and staff with dignity and respectMaintain open lines of communication with familiesPlan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum/learning experiences in line with the CT -ELDS and NAEYC StandardsMaintain observations and assessmentsPlan parent-teacher conferencesEngage in mealtime activities with the children, record daily attendance and daily lunch counts in accordance with CACFP and center policyUse appropriate food handling, sanitation and OSHA procedures at all timeMaintain a clean environment, classroom and playground which includes storage of materials in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.Attend and actively participate in staff meetingsAttend workshops, conferences, and all in-service trainings to meet OEC requirements (20 hours per year full-time employee)Perform other duties as required.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field including 36 credits in Early Childhood Education strongly preferredAssociate's Degree in Early Childhood EducationMinimum of a CDA with 12 credits in Early Childhood EducationFill out application online at https://www.newoppinc.org/employmentNice To HavesFirst Aid and CPR certificationMedication and Epi-pen certificationBenefits*** $3,000 SIGN ON BONUS***$500 Paid on first scheduled pay date$1,000 Paid after 120 days of employment$1,500 Paid after one-year of employment8:30am-2:00pmTuition assistancePaid Professional DevelopmentHoliday PayPaid time offBirthday offMuriel Moore Child Development Center
