Job Description:We are currently seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Asphalt Design and Performance Technician. Reporting into the Technical and Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the design and creation of asphalt mix designs and performance testing as well as review and issue NATA endorsed reports. Additionally, you will oversee the daily requirements of a laboratory including sampling, sample preparation, testing, training, research, equipment checks and maintenance in line with the laboratory quality system.ABOUT YOUKnowledge and experience in one of the following technology areas is desirable; Bituminous Binders, Asphalt Design, Pavement EngineeringCert IV in Laboratory Technology or higherPrevious NATA signatory or proven ability to become a signatory.Experience in asphalt testing highly desirableExperience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement technical solutionsA flair for problem-solving and formulating solutionsStrong safety focus - actively participate in and support Downer Zero Harm initiatives and strategiesDowner is a company that believes people are our greatest asset.
