We are looking for someone who is willing to work for a small (but rapidly growing) company. Able to work under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled work and performs related duties as assigned***Bilingual Required (English & Spanish***About the company:Himalayan Pet Supply began in 2003 with two brothers, a friend and his dog, Kaos. Kaos discovered ‘churpi’ and he loved it!We spent the next four years re-engineering the people-grade cheese to make it lactose free and safe for dogs. In 2007, we launched our new dog chew at a small pet fair in Bellingham, Washington creating a new category in the industry, thus changing the dog chew class significantly.By 2016, we became a leader in the industry as we expanded out into other pet categories, transforming our company from a single product oriented business to a pet supply company. We now offer retailers not just a single chew, but treats, toys and gear as well. We’ve set our sights on outfitting your whole pack and becoming the top most trusted brand pet in the pet industry.Shift is Monday- Friday 7-3 with optional extra hours.*OVERTIME AVAILABLE*$25-$29/HR STARTING WAGE*OverviewReporting directly to the Production General Manager, the Packaging Supervisor is responsible for driving the packaging department results through effective resource management, safe operating procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and regulatory compliance.DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESPrioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the production of products to meet customer specifications, company quality standards, and customer delivery requirements.Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, safety standards and quality of products.Train, coach and involve employees; appraise performance; offer praise and hold accountable; address complaints and resolve problems.Oversee and review all required paperwork, reports and documentation.Coordinate the production planning process with the other departments for downtime for PM and Work Order completion.Actively participate on cross-functional teams for the continuous on-going improvement of methods and processes.Continually review, recommend and implement programs to comply with all State, Federal and local safety and sanitation regulations and employment issues.Ensure proper up-keep of equipment; address and resolve problems; initiate work orders for repairs.Maintain a high level of completion of quality initiatives for the plant such as CAPA Completion/SQF Preparedness/HAACP Awareness/GMP’sProvides excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.Reports to work on time and works overtime as required and if required.Performs all other duties as assigned.WORK EXPERIENCES3+ years leadership experience, preferably in food manufacturingDemonstrated ability to direct, coach, and develop a team of 20-30 associates on a daily basis.Leads by example to create and maintain a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates at all levels.Demonstrated ability to communicate and develop relationships across all levels and functions of the organization to support overall business success.Proven ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs.Experience implementing Continuous Improvement tools to improve Packaging & OEE Performance preferredPrior knowledge of ADP and ERP systems a plusSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position directly supervises a team of 20+ hourly associatesESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)Microsoft office and PC skillsWork extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as requiredAptitude for teambuilding and employee engagement.Results-oriented, process improvement focused.Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision.Bilingual in English and Spanish a mustBENEFITS401kMedical, Dental & VisionPaid HolidayPaid Time OffPaid Sick LeaveAnnual Review/Pay Rate IncreaseEEO StatementHimalayan Dog Chew LLC is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that appreciates and leverages the diversity of our team.
