The role will include the execution of complex and major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference, and therefore good communication skills are essential.Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.This role will be based in Burnaby, BC.Your role within the team:Provide senior review and design leadership using proven technical skills to support various projects, undertake detailed designs and engage in peer-review to produce quality deliverables.Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.Act in a senior role with multi-tasking abilities in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.Good understanding of the geotechnical national and provincial codes such as NBCC, BCBC, CSA-S6 to name a few.Good understanding on deep foundation static and seismic design and pertinent testingGood understanding of the geotechnical conditions of the Lower Mainland in static and seismic conditionsExcellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to mentor, coach and support the development of teams.Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.Excellent report writing, proposal writing and scope understanding skills to produce quality deliverables.Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer?Because we offer:The opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients.An exciting environment where work-life balance is important.A wide array of learning and development opportunities.Competitive pay, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.A work environment focused on health and safety.The ideal candidateDegree in civil engineering, geotechnical or geology with strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent) and have a minimum of 15 years’ pertinent experience.Extensive experience in one or more of the following sectors: infrastructure, highways, rail, municipal, industrial, mining, commercial or residential geotechnics.Proven experiences in design of Deep Foundations, Shoring & Retaining systems, Settlement and Deformation Assessments, Lateral Response Design, Ground Improvement Designs, and Seismic & Liquefaction Assessments.Hold a Professional Engineering License as P.Eng. with EGBC.Compensation Range:Expected compensation for this role is between $120,000 - $160,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role.
