The facility is a Level 4, 120 bed acute hospital that services a rapidly growing catchment population and is about to undergo a to bring new and expanded services into the region.Bathurst Hospital staff, clinicians and the Western NSW Local Health District have provided valuable input to the project team which has helped inform the planning and design and will continue to provide input as the facility is built and refurbished. This is a great opportunity to be involved at the ground level in the redevelopment and service design of this project.Bathurst provides allied health, ambulatory care, coronary care, emergency medicine (26,000 presentations a year), intensive care, general medicine, mental health drug & alcohol, obstetrics & gynaecology, oncology, paediatrics, pathology, radiology, rehabilitation and surgery services. The service also has active hospital in the home and primary community health services to the surrounding townships.Bathurst Health Service has a strong partnership with the University of Western Sydney and Charles Sturt University, conducting research and providing training opportunities for medical students. The facility has a strong partnerships with several Universities, providing student clinical placements, education and patient referral opportunities.A comfortable and scenic 2.5 hour drive from Sydney, is Australia’s oldest inland colonial settlement and is close enough to feel accessible to the big city, but far enough away to feel relaxed & spacious.
