People from all walks of life find themselves calling Tennant Creek homeAbout the RoleThe Policy Officer is an essential member of the Corporate Governance team, working with Executive Managers to review, develop, and maintain organisational policies across all Anyinginyi Health sections.The Policy Officer contributes to all phases of policy work, from conception and scoping; through to delivery, research, and drafting; and onto dissemination and follow-up. The role works within and outside Anyinginyi Health to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships as well as providing communications to inform others of policy developments. This includes setting up meetings and consultations with stakeholders; and working with experts in specialised fields to gain insights into policy changes, reform and development.More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):General:Main function is to ensure policies and procedures across the organisation are current and reviewed in a timely manner.Develop policies and complete reviews of corporation and operational policies, procedures, and guidelines within scheduled timeframes with Executive Managers.Coordinate collaborative approaches to policy development ensuring relevancy and engagement.Interpret organisational and operational policies and procedures for employees to contribute to awareness and understanding of regulatory or contractual requirements.Be alert to innovations in policy development and bring these to the Governance & Policy Manager for consideration.Prepare operational training material to support policy and undertake planned policy information sessions with staff, with a focus on ensuring an understanding of regulatory and legislative polices.Maintain Policy Register and all policy associated documentation and provide reports as required.As a member of the Corporate Governance Team support accreditation and associated audits across a broad field of service standards.Perform other duties as request by your line manager that are reasonably within your capacity and capability.About youEssential skills and experience:Strong policy writing experience, across a number of different disciplines and topics.Advanced written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.Competency in administration, including maintaining records, organising files and scheduling meetings.Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with an ability to work autonomously to achieve business objectives.Ability to work collaboratively in a small team and across diverse range of stakeholders.Strong skills with standard office software, including Microsoft Office suite.DesirableTertiary qualifications in business or similarExperience in an Aboriginal community controlled primary health care environment.Please note:A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role.
