Our meat is sourced primarily from quality assured farms and our beef and lamb are pasture-grazed for most of the year.Be it fresh meat crafted by our master butchers (such as McIntosh Donald and St. Merryn) or our famous brands (such as Rustler’s, Big Al’s and John Stone), we offer a total foodservice solution with the premium quality our customer's demand.Kepak Mclntosh Donald are looking for a Butcher Shop Counter Assistant to join our team, working a standard week of 20.5hrs, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and any holiday cover.Pay starting at £11.44phRole PurposeTo assist in the excellent customer service delivery and experience of the Shop, promoting our brand, understanding our products and offering guidance and recommendations on products whilst complying with relevant food safety and hygiene standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEfficiently take customer ordersPrepare food to required standards checking for taste, presentation, and qualityMaintain relevant recordsMinimize product wastageMaintain required hygiene standards in all areas of the shop, including regular deep cleansAny other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holderProvide guidance and recommendations on products (how to cook, type of cuts etc)Identify upselling opportunitiesPositively contribution to Shop weekly sales targetsProcess orders through till correctlyRestock fresh meat and pre-prepared counters with productsUndertake stock checks and rotations as requiredComplete opening and closing procedures of ShopComplete and maintain hygiene standards and processes for counters, Shop, and food preparation areasUndertake food preparation duties, such as preparing burgers to recipe, dicing meat, preparing marinades etcEnsure all food preparation is carried out in accordance with food hygiene proceduresRequirementsCommitment to Company Values; Passion for food, Ambition, Responsibility and TeamworkPassion for Food at forefront of day-to-day performanceAmbition to develop self to achieve personal and business goalsResponsibility for positive contribution to businessTeam Work across all levels, departments and teams, willing to go the extra mileExperience in food-based customer serviceButchery experience is essentialExceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills essentialCommitment to good practice and hygieneManual handling ability and awarenessCommunicates well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levelsAbility to multitask and work under own initiative to deliver to deadlinesRelationship builder with influencing skillsStrong team playerBenefits31 days annual leave per year (after probation)Subsidised canteen25% Discount in our Buther ShopValues awards programRefer a friend schemeEmployee assistance programCycle to work schemeDiscounts in well known retailersPension plansLife assuranceKepak Group
