About the DepartmentThe role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.About the Victorian School Building AuthorityThe Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education. Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s.The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.With Victoria recently introducing two years of funded kindergarten, the VSBA is also working with the early childhood sector on a massive kindergarten construction program.About the DivisionThe Corporate Division provides corporate support to all VSBA teams and fulfills an important assurance and oversight role. They guide VSBA to achieve strategic objectives and ensure decision-making is transparent and accountable.The division also coordinates communication and consultation with local communities about their school building projects. They develop graphic design and video content, manage our social media channels, lead organisational customer service reform, distribute our e-newsletters and organise ministerial and other events for our projects.About the RoleThis is a Fixed term role until 30/06/2027.Reporting to the Application Support Team Leader, Business Systems, the Technology Advisor - Systems Support serves as the primary contact for users submitting incidents or service requests to the Business Systems Service Desk. As a dedicated team member, the Technology Advisor provides initial level support by analysing, troubleshooting, and resolving requests. For issues requiring further attention beyond initial contact, the Technology Advisor escalates as necessary.This role collaborates closely with the Support Team to ensure prompt resolution of incidents and service requests. Key responsibilities include independent analysis, problem-solving, and strong communication skills.Specifically, the role involves:Monitoring and resolving service desk tickets, primarily focusing on level one support with some exposure to level two.Providing technical assistance to VSBA staff, DE users, and external users of supported systems.Offering support for Oracle Primavera Cloud, Oracle Aconex, Oracle ERP and SharePoint.Delivering 1st and 2nd level support for all applicable supported applications.Supporting current technologies such as Oracle ERP, Oracle Aconex, Oracle Primavera Cloud, SharePoint forms and system administration.Contributing to process improvements and maintaining corporate information systems for records management and financial information.Updating and maintaining support knowledge base documents.Shows consideration, concern, and respect for others' feelings and ideas.Constantly seeks continuous improvement opportunities and fosters innovation in others.Monitors client and stakeholder satisfaction closely.Accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others.Collaborates and shares information effectively.Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals.Encourages resolution of conflict within the group.Shows consideration, concern, and respect for others' feelings and ideas.Constantly seeks continuous improvement opportunities and fosters innovation in others.Implements specific changes in work methods to enhance outcomes, quality, and timeliness of service.Monitors client and stakeholder satisfaction closely.Takes prompt responsibility for resolving issues without becoming defensive.Fulfilling other duties as assigned.All VSBA staff have a shared responsibility to meet the same service standards outlined in the VSBA Customer Service Charter.
