We also equip researchers to find the causes of disease and develop new treatments – with patients and participants at the heart of it all.Our mission is to continue refining, scaling, and evolving our ability to enable others to deliver genomic healthcare and conduct genomic research.We are accelerating our impact and working with patients, doctors, scientists, government and industry to improve genomic testing, and help researchers access the health data and technology they need to make new medical discoveries and create more effective, targeted medicines for everybody.Job DescriptionProduct Manager – (FTC10 Months)Genomics England partner with the NHS to provide whole genome sequencing diagnostics for patients with rare disease and cancer. Each genome is composed of a huge amount of data that needs to be analysed by Clinical Scientists located across seven region hubs in England to determine if there is a genetic component to their disease.Genomics England provides an Interpretation Platform, to enable Clinical Scientists access to the results, decision support tooling, and a knowledgebase of those interpretation decisions, in order to support them in the important and complex task of genomic interpretation.This is a 10mth FTC, maternity cover, for a Product Manager within the Interpretation Platform. You will play a pivotal role in working with multiple cross functional teams through the whole product lifecycle, leading on the continual development of the interpretation knowledge base (Clinical Variant Ark) and the potential to expand it to cover cancer as well as rare disease.You will be working in partnership with the NHS and Clinical scientists to distil user needs, in order to support the rapid and safe interpretation of whole genome data. This is a role for those with excellent stakeholder management skills and whom enjoy working on both a data and user facing product, thriving at taking a user centred view to complex problems in a complex ecosystem. You will need to enjoy collaborating with others, as the success of your product has some dependencies on those you are connected to upstream, as only together can we deliver the end-to-end service.Everyday responsibilities include:Understand the key market, competitive, technical, scientific, clinical implications to lead the product effectively. Rely on technical knowledge and skills to prioritise and manage the productEnsure your users are happy, supported, and getting value from your product. Ensure your product maintains compliance.Define product vision and strategy for the live Interpretation Platform. Set squad OKRs aligned to business priorities. Translate the vision, strategy and OKRs into a product roadmap and communicate it effectively.Manage successful outcomes through OKRs for users and the business by defining and prioritising the focus of the squad, balancing maintenance and new development using continuous discovery and delivery.Solve problems and make decisions quickly and effectively to make rapid progress, including many perspectives in problem solving and incorporating data into all decision making.Work in alignment with squad members, internal and external stakeholders, users, and 3rd parties. Communicate priorities, commitments, and manage stakeholders.Skills and experience for success:Experience taking a software product from discovery to running liveExperience of leading a team, including ability to mentor, coach and create a collaborative environmentExperience of agile development/delivery of digital servicesSuccessful at (and enjoy) collaborating with people from a variety of backgrounds including engineers.Able to influence a range of stakeholders at a variety of seniorities but also willing to listen and take on board other opinions and ideasHighly proactive and a practical problem solver who likes to figure stuff out rather than explaining why it can't be done.QualificationsNo specific qualifications required.Additional InformationSalary from £73,000Being an integral part of such a meaningful mission is extremely rewarding in itself, but in order to support our people, we’re continually improving our benefits package.
