At GenesisCare we want to hear from people who are as passionate as we are about innovation and working together to drive better life outcomes for patients around the world.Your life's best work!GenesisCare has an exciting opportunity for a Cancer Nurse Consultant to join our team on the Mornington Peninsula on a full time, permanent basis.As a Cancer Nurse Consultant, you are responsible for providing individualised and coordinated care for patients requiring radiotherapy at our new centre situated within Peninsula Private Hospital.This role will ensure that treatment and care is planned and delivered in partnership with patients and families. This will be delivered through effective and timely communication with patients, families, and carers.This role also provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals and facilitates care management plans for patients who are referred to GenesisCare and who are discharged back to their health service provider.More specifically, you will:Patient care coordination and educationCreate links to and liaises closely with health services to ensure a seamless transition of patients between their primary health provider to GenesisCareAttend multidisciplinary meetings where required to remain informed and to plan patient careUndertake comprehensive patient assessment to develop, facilitate and evaluate the care management plans for patients with complex health needsProfessional leadership and clinical practiceTo be recognised as a role model and expert clinician in the delivery of cancer careAssume leadership roles, which promote broader advancement of clinical practice e.g., membership in relevant interest groups and nursing committees both internally and externallyProvides leadership in the ongoing review of best practice and contributes to the development and delivery of nursing educationResearch and quality improvementInitiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical servicesInitiates, conducts and disseminates the findings of locally based research related to cancer and radiotherapyClinical service planning and managementDevelops effective relationships with key stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for patientsContributes to the development and management of clinical processes e.g., care pathways, policies and proceduresImplements systems and processes to plan and co-ordinate patient careWe're interested in hearing from people who have:Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of AustraliaMinimum 5 years nursing experience and expertise in oncology nursingPostgraduate qualification or working towards in Oncology Nursing, Advanced Nursing or similarExceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skillsDemonstrated ability to coordinate and plan the care of people with cancer across the continuum of careDemonstrated commitment to the delivery of quality patient careDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with external key stakeholdersBenefits of joining our team:Ongoing opportunities for professional development to keep up to date with current clinical practices in a rapidly developing organisationThe opportunity to work for one of the most influential healthcare providersAll employees and their family members have access to free confidential support that is completely external to GenesisCare including financial, nutritional and wellbeing coaching, legal advice & counsellingLearn and grow with our award-winning development programsAbout GenesisCareWe are 1,300+ highly trained healthcare professionals and support staff in Australia designing innovative treatments and care for people with cancer.
