What if you could shape built and natural environments, and the future of those that use them?With us, you can.As an Associate Consultant in the Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials team, your primary focus is to protect workers' health, and provide guidance to clients in order for them to meet their health, safety, and legislative requirements regarding the workplace, and occupational exposure.We've recently delivered asbestos, HAZMAT, occupational hygiene consultancy services for clients such as:Department of Transport and PlanningDepartment of DefenceHomes VictoriaEPA VictoriaWestfield Shopping CentresAustralia PostWestpac Banking CorporationAMPOLCSIRO7-ElevenWhat you'll doAlongside two other senior team members, you will contribute to building the team's pipeline and capability, undertake technical quality review, and foster a high-performance team environment.Responsibilities include:Conduct comprehensive occupational health risk assessments for hazards including but not limited to silica, noise, chemical exposures, vibration, lead, asbestos, biological hazards, and indoor air qualityUse cutting edge equipment and methods to monitor workers for exposure to hazardsPerform indoor air quality testing and analysisDesign effective strategies for hazard remediation and prevention managementUndertake technical supervision, inspections and monitoring during site remediation worksAssess health risks and provide expert advice with support from senior technical specialists and Certified Occupational Hygienists (COH)Collaborate with cross-disciplinary working in acoustics, contaminated land, engineering and fire safetyProduce technical reports to a high standard, including technical peer review of reportsStrong professional development, with opportunity to be mentored by Certified Occupational Hygienists, and mentor junior staff.Assist the team with strategy and business developmentNurture client relationships to expand regional business opportunitiesAbout youYou are likely to have 10+ years of experience in measuring and assessing workplace hazards including environmental factors as well as chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards.You will ideally bring the following:Previous consultancy experience is requiredGood understanding of project life cycle, taking initiative to develop relationships with clients, whilst maintaining high standards of service deliveryExperience in business development including development of winning proposals and building ongoing client relationshipsConfidence to communicate hazards and risks with clients, from the boardroom to the fieldExperience in analysing complex results and datasets, and writing technical reports, with a desire to progress your project management skillsStrong knowledge of work health and safety regulations, or health risk assessmentHigh attention to detail and responsive to clients' needsBe willing to work remotely, with occasional weekends and overtimeAustralian Driver's LicenseYou're likely to have tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Health or Environmental ScienceAbout WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
