Canine Care strives to take care of you so you can take great care of dogs.Position:Professional backup dog walker with the ability to walk up to three dogs at one time, transport up to three dogs, and manage up to five dogs off-leash in a private fenced area.This position is intended to provide supplemental income, not a full-time income.We ask that you have some level of availability Monday - Thursday from 8:30am to 2:30pm.Our operating hours are 8am to 6pm.We service the communities of Deerfield, Glencoe, Glenview, Highland Park, Kenilworth, Northbrook, Wilmette, and Winnetka.Additional earnings opportunities are available on weekdays.Holidays off.All staff members are W2 employees.Compensation:$18 / hour$400 - $1800 / monthIncremental increase in pay based on ability and longevity. Staff working with Canine Care for multiple years earn up to $30 / hour.Reimbursements/Time Off:67 cents/mile driven for workAll materials provided (leashes, dog waste bags, supplies to convert a car for transport of dogs)Paid Time Off (sick leave and/or scheduled)Responsibilities:Provide safe and engaging dog walking services from client residences, performing group walks, of up to three dogs for durations of 30/45/60 minutes.Provide feedings, medications, and freshwater as requested.Health and safety checks for the dogs and their homes.Clean up dog waste as needed (on walks or in client homes).Use our industry software to manage your schedule and provide clients with excellent customer service.Ideal Candidate:An honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate who understands the importance of canine enrichment and proper socialization.This backup dog walker position is ideal if you have a flexible professional schedule.You may work five days one week and zero days the next week. As a backup dog walker, your schedule is influenced by both client demand and our staffing levels.The candidate should have a strong understanding of safety and time management.Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.
