If you dream of joining an organization that is small enough for you to be noticed, but big enough to provide you with a meaningful career, then we want to hear from you!Job DescriptionThe House of Commons Human Resources Services is currently looking to staff the Senior Advisor, Classification and Organizational Design position.In this role, you will provide job evaluation, and classification and organizational services, for both unionized and unrepresented positions as part of an integrated human resources team. The Senior Advisor conducts analysis and external benchmarking reviews to ensure the House Administration employs an efficient and effective workforce in a fair and competitive manner.Your primary focus will be on the development and implementation of new or revised classification and evaluation services, strategies, procedures, practices, processes, initiatives, and tools to maintain and support the integrity of the classification program. These responsibilities include the cyclical review process for the periodic update and re-evaluation of job descriptions to ensure that the classification system is efficiently managed and effectively applied, and a monitoring program to ensure quality control, reliability, and sustainability of the classification program.Top Reasons to Join the Classification and Organizational Design TeamBy joining this team, you'll have the opportunity to witness the direct impact of your work on the entire organization. By sharing your knowledge, skills, and expertise you will also contribute to the foundation of the organization and play an indirect role in employee development.QualificationsEducation :University degree from a recognized institution in a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience.Experience:Knowledge of classification theory, practices, and principles;Experience in providing professional advisory services on classification matters and organizational design/analysis, offering expert guidance and analytical insights to client groups;Experience in leading, participating in, and providing advice for classification committees and projects;Experience in conducting broad research across diverse subjects using varied information sources, and analyzing data for reports;Experience in writing high-level communications and reports for senior management;Experience developing/reviewing classification policies, tools, job evaluation standards, processes, and procedures;Experience using the Hay Plan and/or other relevant classification systems;Ability to use a computer to conduct research, use digital tools and templates, and operate office software, and HR systems.Additional InformationWe are committed to creating an inclusive workplace by providing a barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
