Collectively we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting opportunity for Verification and Validation Engineer to join our Maritime business based in Osborne, SA.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.The Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer is responsible for conducting mission system V&V activities safely, and assist in the ongoing development of, and adherence to, the V&V schedules and budgets.Key activities:Conduct all V&V activities safely and in accordance with processes and policiesReview ship requirements by assessing changes and resolving issuesVerify mission system requirements through the review, collation and submission of documentation or evidenceReview design documents including contract deliverables, system & subsystem specifications, test procedures, test reports and change reportsCreate or revise supporting documents including templates, reviews, minutes, presentations and agendasDefine and update processesManaging delivery of subject matter expert inputs to the V&V programWork with external stakeholders such as the customer, regulatory authorities and sub-contractors to develop the V&V program as requiredSupport the engineering community in their understanding of the V&V programPrepare and distribute metrics on the V&V program as requiredInteract with Operations, Quality and Engineering teams to ensure robust engineering solutions are selected.About YOUExperience in implementing Systems Engineering practices and methods in a complex environmentRelevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Engineering) or similarStrong problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multi task simultaneously within a production environmentDemonstrated superior communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levelsDemonstrated professional integrity, advanced level of technical knowledge, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility, maturity of judgementDesire to seek and share good practice and knowledge locally to continuously improve own practices whilst improving safety on the worksiteSelf-motivated and proactive to support working autonomously diagnosing production issues, developing solutions and ensuring issues are driven to closurePossess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate defence security clearance and eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR)regulationsWe believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
