You would be the go-to for any advice or support for County staff going through the purchasing process, and you’d help ensure that purchases are made on a competitive basis. You will be responsible for the corporate asset disposal process. You will collaborate closely with our eight local municipalities, and coordinate any group-purchasing initiatives and opportunities. Your expertise in purchasing compliance policies and regulations will ensure a smooth purchasing process for everyone involved.The Purchasing Team encourages and supports the County’s corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management, leadership, accountability and flexibility/adaptability.This job is for you if...Education: You have a College Diploma or University Degree in business administration or the purchasing field.Experience: You have two (2) or more years of related experience in a purchasing related field, preferably municipal or other public purchasing positions.Passionate About Purchasing: You are passionate about purchasing and have a thorough understanding of the procurement process. You have completed or are willing to complete the Ontario Public Buyers Association Principles Certificate Program. The Certified Professional Public Buyers (“CPPB”) designation from NIGP or other related Supply Chain designations would be an asset.Logic-Based Thinking: You have great mathematical skills and love a challenge. You can apply your technical knowledge to applicable goods/services..Ability to Multi-Task: You perform well under tight timelines, managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Microsoft Office Expertise: You are proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Sharepoint.Great Communication: You can talk to anyone and everyone, by catering your technical explanations of complex processes to all audiences.Life-Long Learner and Team Contributor: You actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills while collaborating effectively with colleagues towards shared goals.Experience with Online Bidding Platforms: You have used online bidding platforms before and are comfortable with using them again.
