With around 9,223 employees, we are one of Australia's most experienced and diverse multi-modal transport businesses operating around 3,991 buses, 113 ferries, and 24 light rail vehicles, carrying over 257 million customers to where they need to be and want to go.The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team based at our Morphettville Depot. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the preparation of accounts, analysis, and monthly reporting, while partnering with the business to provide insights and support commercial initiatives. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities and requires someone who can work collaboratively across commercial and operations teams.Key Responsibilities:Production of timely monthly financial accountsCalculating and processing prepaymentsRevenue and expense accruals and other monthly journals as requiredBudgeting, balance sheet reconciliations, asset register maintenance, reviewing fuel reconciliations and usage, calculating fuel tax credits, reviewing and posting stocktake dataPreparation of BAS and FBT, completing ABS surveys and other ad hoc reporting, revenue and payroll analysisProducing monthly commentary to key stakeholdersEssential Skills and Experience:CPA or CA qualifications in AccountingMinimum 10 years' experience in a multi-company groupAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and broad accounting system knowledge and experienceExcellent interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail and reporting deadlinesFocused on problem solving and able to develop practical and forward-thinking solutionsAbility to maintain confidentialityExperience with Government contracts (desirable)What We Offer:At Torrens Transit, we offer a challenging, flexible, and rewarding career that takes you exactly where you want to go.
