CME's licensed engineers and certified technicians specialize in geotechnical engineering, construction materials evaluation in both field and laboratory, geological sciences, subsurface exploration, and investigative engineering.Summary:Supervisor of Special Inspections is a Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) who serves as the project engineer in-responsible-charge of CME’s contracted special inspections and structural tests.Responsibilities:Initial set-up and management of the Project Special Inspections ProgramAct as a consultant on construction related problems, failures or issuesAttend pre-installation conferences and relay Inspection Program requirements to teamTechnical review of test/inspection reports for compliance with the construction contract documents and the New York Building CodesPerform on-site inspections and report resultsCertification of the Inspection/Testing Program at project completionAct as liaison with Registered Design Professionals and Code Enforcement OfficialsServe as Owner's Agent in execution of the Special Inspections Program and exercise duty of care to the publicManage non-conformance list, prepare project test & inspection plansAssist in the prevention of construction material failures and workmanship problemsTechnical supervision, technical evaluations and mentorship of engineering technologists and inspectorsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree, Civil Engineering or relatedRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) or current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with goal of earning PEExperience with building codes and standards governing special inspections and structural testsA friendly, forthright, diplomatic, and communicative business demeanorAbility to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulationsCompensation: $80 - 110k annuallyBenefits and PerksCME offers competitive wages and all benefits listed here: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, Health Savings Account, Supplemental Insurance Products, and Paid Time Off (including Holiday, Vacation, Sick and Personal).
