Our QLD Workers' Compensation team are looking for a Legal Claims Advisor to join their team. You will be responsible for the efficient processing and management of QLD Workers' Compensation Claims. As part of managing your own portfolio of claims, you will be required to determine liabilities on new and continuing claims and make decisions in relation to the legal aspects of the claims. You will liaise with a range of stakeholders to ensure appropriate outcomes. This position will suit a driven and adaptable individual, who enjoys working as part of a cohesive, collaborative team.Determine and gather information needed in managing common law claimsDecide common law claims in accordance with relevant legislationPreparation for court matters, collating briefs to counsel, drafting various documents, and making arrangements for conferencesLiaising with internal and external parties to source relevant evidenceEnsure claim outcomes meet company objectives and are cost effectiveRelated administrative duties including processing of invoices, data entry and file managementKeeping up to date with case law and precedents affecting claims and the scheme.Providing practical technical advice about strategic management, both generally and in relation to specific claims.Providing assistance with advice and/or drafting of legal notices and correspondence.Perform any other duties as directed by Team Leader.Work as an integral member of the Workers Compensation Department.Skills and Qualifications3 +years' experience in a similar roleDemonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlookKnowledge of Workers Compensation claims management related laws, medical and legal terminologyResponds calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focusExceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skillExcellent attention to detailAble to work in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environmentTakes other's perspective's into considerationMust be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvementSees an opportunity & takes actionMakes self fully available as requiredWhy work for JBS Australia?Heavily discounted meat products.Retail discounts with national partners including health insurance discounts.Training and development opportunities.Employee Assistance Program.Interested?
