Get a jump start on a summer job!The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is a non-profit organization that provides summer camp opportunities to Florida’s Youth. We operate three traditional sleep away camps along with a traveling day camp program. Site Directors for Mobile Camp will travel each week to different cities in Florida.Currently we are hiring for our Site Director positions. Come work a few hours a month (PRN) now until the start of our summer season in May when you will transition to full time for the summer.Job Type: PRN Now & Then Full-Time in MayPay: $577.00 per week (includes room & board from May to Aug)SUMMARYThe Mobile Camp Site Director has primary responsibilities in supervising the daily operation of the mobile camp site to which he or she is assigned. This includes the supervision of staff, campers, and implementation of mobile camp curriculum and activities. The Site Director is responsible for maintaining good community relations with all organizations involved including Sheriffs departments, schools, and community partners. The Site Director is the immediate spokesperson for the program in absence of the Youth Camp Director, and Director of Camping Services. The Mobile Camp Site Director is directly responsible to the Camp Director. This position is exempt from overtime pay.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties and responsibilities are given as examples of the various types of work performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. * Exercises boldness, justice, and sensitivity while supervising Group Leaders.Teaches self control, tolerance, and patience to resolve conflict between youth and/or staff.Demonstrates alertness, attentiveness, and discretion while supervising program in order to maintain a safe camping experience for all participants.Uses initiative and diligence in scheduling and implementing mobile camp activities and curriculum.Displays hospitality and attentiveness to any donors, media, guests and community partners in order to make them feel included and comfortable.Practices diligence, orderliness, and punctuality in completing administrative reports such as time sheets, vehicle logs, travel vouchers, petty cash reimbursement, and incident reports.Demonstrates resourcefulness and wise stewardship of the agency’s resources including all mobile camp supplies and agency vehicles.Models joyfulness, enthusiasm, and creativity to staff and campers by singing songs, telling stories, etc. in order to create a fun and exciting camp atmosphere.Displays flexibility and availability when faced with change and displays a willingness to cooperate with supervisors and community partners in order to ensure the smooth operation of the mobile camping program.10. Exercises honor, loyalty, and humility by upholding agency standards of conduct, maintaining focus on the agency’s mission, and by asking supervisors for help when it is needed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSThis position requires a minimum of high school diploma, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and meets the driver eligibility requirements for rental vehicles. Two years of college with leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.BenefitsAll staff are provided room and board from May to AugustRegular time off is given between sessions. Depending on the camp location you choose Daytona Beach, Gainesville, and Jacksonville are only an hour away!Staff are given multiple hour long wellness breaks each day.All staff have access to the FSYR Employee Assistance Program during the summer as a free benefit for mental health support.During a paid week of pre-service training all staff will receive transferable certifications in Adult First Aid/ CPR/AED ($30 value) along with training on topics such as; trauma informed care, non-violent crisis intervention, and the basics of childcare.Specialty certifications are offered in early May.
