We plan to start this position as soon as possible.offers a positive-reinforcement (R+)-oriented pet care experience to support families in the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and Alameda). We are an award-winning business focused on safety, communication, and fun!The Dog Walker position:We provide Group Trail Hikes, Buddy Walks (smaller groups in the neighborhood), and private dog walking services.We also provide Puppy Playgroup Classes, Boarding (an optional service for employees to host client dogs in their homes), and Cat Care.As needed, you may need to visit our office location at 7574 Altura Pl, Oakland, CA 94605.Our next dog walker will need to be available Monday - Friday from 12pm to 3pm but we would prefer a candidate with additional morning availability.Most staff work 15-25 hours per week, but this position starts closer to 18 hours per week.Based on performance, client demand and availability, the position can grow closer to 25 hours weekly. The position is designed not to exceed 30 hours weekly.The current role will consist of private dog walking and Group Trail Hikes.Compensation:$20 - $23 / hour (starting rate based on experience, additional bonuses and gratuity will be available).$1400 - $1600 / month100% Client gratuityRegular employee reviews with potential for compensation increases based on performanceEarn up to 60 hours per year of paid time off to use for sick, vacation, or personal timeRetirement savings 401K programReimbursement for business mileage paid at the federal rateTime and a half pay for evenings/weekends and double time for holiday walks$10 monthly cell phone stipendAdditional benefits:The dogs we walk are carefully vetted based on individual temperament.Immediate support through our office if you have issues with clients/pets or an emergencyDedicated backup staff to cover for you in case of sickness or when you go on vacation.Paid on-the-job training and continuing education through the best positive-reinforcement dog trainers in the Bay Area.The ideal candidate:An honest, patient, and enthusiastic person with a strong understanding of safety and time management.Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.They should enjoy an active work environment, working independently and outdoors regardless of weather conditions.Above-average verbal and written communication skills to communicate with staff, the general public, clients, and the office.A positive can-do attitude--extra consideration for those with professional social media experience, the ability to change a flat tire, or jump a car battery.Powered by JazzHRDoggy Lama Pet Care
