We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.About you:You are a qualified Psychologist or Social Worker or Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist with demonstrated professional competencies in providing evidence-based assessment and treatment methods as relevant to children, adolescents, and their family/carers, with the ability to adapt or modify standard methods or procedures to accommodate the needs of children and young people in and out of home care who present with severe and complex mental health problems. You possess the knowledge, skills, and expertise in the provision of therapeutic services to young people and their family/carer including the application of relevant legislative and duty of care obligations applicable to working within a specialist mental health service and can apply well developed interpersonal and communication skills within a multi-disciplinary environment, including negotiation, consultation, and conflict resolution.Your opportunity:To participate as a member of the multidisciplinary Cairns Child and Youth Mental Health Service in the delivery of clinical services, including assessment, treatment and case management to children and youth presenting with severe and complex behavioural and emotional difficulties and mental health disorders.Your role:Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under theclinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.Provide effective and efficient clinical care and work in collaboration with Clinical Lead/Consultant Psychiatrist and Cluster Operational Manager, to ensure safe standards of care.Provide support and direction to professional staff including clinical and non-registered staff within the Child and Youth Mental Health Team.Use a bio-psychosocial model to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments.As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive remuneration, you will also have access to:Generous superannuationSalary packagingAnnual incremental increasesCareer training and developmentFlexible work arrangementsWellness programsVaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.For more information about this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Why choose Cairns?You can find out more about why it's so great to work at Cairns and Hinterland here:Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote and .Applicants are to apply online.
