You will work hands-on with robots on a daily basis, and with multiple leading robot brands such as FANUC, Universal Robots, and ABB. You will work closely with Automation Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Robotics Engineers from Vention’s core product teams.The Robotics Engineer is called to work in various phases of a product, from early-stage prototyping with a marketing intent, to late-stage development for client and product milestones.More specifically you will:Design, build, test and characterize robotic solutions leveraging Vention’s ecosystem.Work hands-on with robots of multiple brands on a daily basis.Mentor a team of passionate younger automation and robotics engineers with your technical expertise.Inform the “core product” roadmap by creating prototype and early-version components alongside the Mechanical Hardware and Automation Hardware teams to broaden the scope of Vention’s productized Applications and overall product offering.Work on current existing Vention’s MachineApps future releases for continuous improvement and to increase their feature set.Learn new industrial manufacturing processes to develop new Vention’s productized applications.Work on every step of a robotic product development, from prototyping to development and from full release process to post-release client support.Assist in the drafting of documentation for Applications (Design Guides, Integration/Assembly Manuals, Installation Manuals, User Manuals).QualificationsHands-on experience deploying automated or robotic solutionsExperience with control algorithms.Expertise in developing robotics solutions with major robot brands including Universal Robots, Doosan, Fanuc, Motoman (Yaskawa), ABB, and KUKAUniversity degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Robot Technology or related industry experienceMinimum 5 years of on-the-job experienceExpert in programming languages (ideally Python but ok with C++, C#, VB, etc.)Knowledge of ROS is a strong assetProject experience in industrial computer vision is a strong assetKnowledge of industrial communication protocols (ex: Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU, Ethernet/IP)Excellent understanding of machine safety and standards (ISO13849-1/2, CAN/CSA Z434, CAN/CSA Z432 and similar)Additional InformationHow We Take Care of YouComplimentary beverages and snacks so that you are fuelled and ready for your dayCareer growth opportunities.
