Temporary full-time position in a great location, until 24/12/2026.Flexible working conditions and ongoing opportunities for training and career development..Be involved in one of TMR's largest transport infrastructure programs.Job details Position status Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type Flexible full-timeOccupational group Engineering & SurveyingClassification PO4Workplace Location Sunshine CoastJob ad reference QLD/578764/24Closing date 31-Jul-2024Yearly salaryFortnightly salaryTotal remunerationSalary OtherJob duration ASAP to 24/12/2026 with possible extensionContact person Martin JonesContact details Ph: (07) 5475 2801Access theKey responsibilities:Carry out complex investigation and analysis of road infrastructure to identify deficiencies, and determine, design and deliver appropriate remedial treatments to improve road safety.Investigate and report on road infrastructure conditions at traffic crash sites throughout the region's road network to identify road safety concerns and to action or recommend remedial treatments.Carry out complex investigation and analysis of crash data on the regional road network to determine factors which may be influencing crash rates and then to assess the most appropriate application of a wide range of engineering treatments to improve road safety.Evaluate and design safe and effective traffic devices, including signage and linemarking, for the Region in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental guideline.Identify and nominate candidate safety improvement projects.Evaluate, respond and recommend possible treatments to road safety enquiries and provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.Approve outgoing correspondence and minor works orders.Mandatory qualifications and conditions:A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence.Requirements of the role:Embraces new ideas/innovation and makes considered, ethical and courageous decisions, based on insight into the broader context and purpose of projects.Demonstrated ability to apply project management principles in the delivery of multiple infrastructure related projects.Demonstrated experience and skill in regards to providing both written and verbal responses to enquiries, being able to translate technical decisions into terms that the customer will understand.Demonstrated experience in carrying out complex traffic engineering and/or road safety-based investigations and analyses of road infrastructure, identifying deficiencies and developing remedial treatments. Examples of the types of traffic engineering and/or road safety-based investigations are listed above in “Key Responsibilities”.Knowledge of legislative requirements and departmental guidelines related to signage and linemarking traffic control devices.
