We’d love to meet you.Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Toronto. This role will take on the responsibility to ensure all operating expenses are accurately recorded and work closely with various departments to ensure their open purchase orders are up to date and valid. This role will also assist with the month-end and year-end close by ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.Reviews, analyzes and reconciles GL accounts, including prepaid, accrual and sales tax accountsReviews, analyzes and identifies month end accruals and investigate variancesReview and reconcile monthly Pcard receipts and invoices to the statementsPrepare monthly sales tax returns and other related regulatory filingsWork with internal business partners on a routine basis to provide support and to understand business transactions to ensure that they are being recorded correctly and accuratelyPerform regular reviews of all open purchase orders and work with internal business departments to ensure accuracySupport and coordinate month end and year end close processAssist in coordinating year-end audits, monthly reports, analysisSupport the integrity of GL by ensuring best practices policies are implemented and followed in accordance with IFRS and SOX requirementsEnsure compliance with the Company's accounting policies and proceduresContribute to the continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures.Ad Hoc reports and tasks.Qualifications1-3 years of experience in the field of Accounting with an Accounting degree or Diploma from a recognized University or relevant experienceGood analytical ability and problem solving skills with excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent communication in English, both written and verbalA dynamic and pro-active individual with a sense of urgency for resolution and ability to executeSolution oriented individual with a strong sense of ownership, able to make decisions and recommendationsSelf-starter with high standards of performance and a strong desire to learnAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and Excellent skills on Microsoft OfficeApplications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Experience with Oracle is a plusUnderstanding of the AP and AR processesIFRS knowledge is an assetCPA or working towards designationOther detailsThis position requires the successful completion of a criminal and credit background checkThe successful candidate will be hired and based at our Freedom location in Toronto, ONAdditional InformationTake advantage of a customizable health & dental benefits program and opportunities for company-matched pension (according to position).Promote your health with the wellness program, which focuses on physical, psychological, financial, and social health.Benefit from the Employee Assistance Program for you and your family, including Virtual Healthcare.Participate in projects that make an impact and take on challenges that will allow you to surpass yourself.Develop your full potential and imagine what you can become within Quebecor’s family through our various career opportunities. #Li-Na1Embark on a career where you can make a real difference in people’s lives every day.
