The Financial Accounting Services unit is responsible for all activities relating to QPS statutory financial reporting, general ledger, asset accounting, taxation and assurance. This includes the annual financial statements and the coordination of the related year end process, asset accounting annual programs, Queensland Audit Office audits and Chief Financial Officer Assurance Statements, month end processes including journals and reconciliations. You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business units and external stakeholders to provide expert financial accounting guidance and advice.The core capability requirements for this role are:Provide strategic and operational financial management advice and services to enable compliance with applicable financial legislation, accounting standards, financial policies and practices.Coordinate the timely preparation of Tridata reporting, annual fringe benefits tax return and the annual financial statements in accordance with legislation, accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.Identify, develop, and implement business improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial accounting, assets accounting and reporting.Implement monitoring processes including the judicious analysis of the SAP financial ledger, to ensure financial information integrity is maintained.Research matters to prepare quality reports, submissions, correspondence and briefing notes for stakeholders on financial reporting requirements, corporate taxation, asset register management and accounting issues and impacts to management.Create a work environment encouraging teamwork whilst empowering individuals to strive for continuous improvement, seeking challenges, developing skills and achieving results.Role Requirements:Qualification:Tertiary and post graduate qualifications in accounting or related disciplines would be highly regarded.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote and .Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.DocumentsBefore applying for this vacancy please ensure you read the documents below.Queensland Government
