JOB PURPOSEThe Medical Sonography Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound examinations.QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of a Diagnostic Sonography Program.Must be eligible for registration with Sonography Canada.Ability to attend work on a regular basis.Ability to perform the duties of the position.Good work record.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Medical Sonography Technologist is responsible for:Assessing and preparing patients for ultrasound examinationsPreparing and operating equipmentPerforming procedures in accordance with standards of practiceAssessing test results and preparing ImpressionsUsing clinical information systems to access and maintain clinical records and documentationAssisting with or performing quality assurance activities/initiativesProviding mentoring and support for DI staff, students and other health care professionalsCOMPETENCIES IDENTIFIED BY HORIZON HEALTH NETWORKAttention to DetailDecision MakingInterpersonal SkillsPatient/Client FocusPlanning and Prioritizing WorkResults OrientationStress ManagementTeamwork and CollaborationInterested?
