Job Description:Wood has a requirement for a Graduate Engineer - Static Equipment & Structures to join our Consulting team in Perth as part of our 2025 intake.To be considered you should have completed your Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering degree by the end of 2024 or earlier.This is a terrific opportunity for a Graduate Engineer or an Engineer with limited experience to join a team of technical specialists working within engineering dynamics specifically focusing on static equipment systems.This is a practical consulting role combining hands-on field work and office based analysis and reporting. In this role you will demonstrate your technical interests, particularly resolving the causes and effects of vibration in static equipment and structures, including piping and instrument tubing. As a successful member of the 2025 Graduate intake, you will be enrolled in Wood's two year Graduate Programme and assigned a buddy to support you throughout.What we look for in these roles:Completed your Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering degree by the end of 2024 or earlierFamiliarity with piping vibration or structural dynamics - this is preferred, however not essentialFamiliarity with process and piping drawings such as P&IDs and isometricsAn interest in digital projects / coding / data handling for example, using Python, SQL, Power BI Visualisations)Flexibility to take on site travel to client locations throughout Australia when requiredAttention to detail: You will be responsible for creating detailed designs and specifications and must pay close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and safety of the workTeamwork: Most engineering projects require collaboration and teamwork, so strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are essentialAdaptability: Engineering is a constantly evolving field, and as a Graduate engineer you should be able to adapt to new technologies and techniquesProblem solving: Engineering often requires finding creative solutions to complex problems. Good critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are highly valuedCommunication skills: The ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner is important for a Graduate engineer. This includes the ability to write reports, give presentations, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleaguesContinuous Learning: Technologies and methodologies are constantly changing so staying up to date is an important attributeCreativity: have that innate ability to “think outside the box”Analytical ability: ability to think analytically to fully define a problem and develop solutions suited to the problemLogical thinking: ability to understand how a system works, what can go wrong and how to fix it.
