The team has overarching responsibility to support the NSW public health system with advice, guidance, education and training in the application, strategic management and progression of activity based management.ABM's role in the application of activity based management across NSW Health is to:Determine the State Efficient Price for activity based funding (ABF) hospitals and small rural hospitals.Set costing standards and coordinate clinical costing submissions via the District and Network Return (DNR).Work with managers and peer clinicians to provide education in the principles of Activity Based Funding and the role clinical variation review has in the NSW Health Funding Model. This work is based on patient level costing data.Work in partnership with national bodies on the development of new and refined classifications, costing and funding approaches.Develop and maintain the ABM Portal and other ABM application tools, education materials and resources used by NSW Health stakeholders.The Stakeholder Engagement and Clinical Variation team currently use their clinical experience to assist clinicians, operational managers and Executives in understanding ABF principles, models and concepts.
