Location: CanberraPosition Type: Ongoing | Full-timeSalary: $82,403 - $101,745About the roleWe are seeking to fill various financial accounting positions at the APS5 and APS6 levels, within the Financial Operation, Reporting and Compliance section, within the Finance and Enterprise Support branch.APS5 Key responsibilities:Liaise with Agency’s stakeholders to provide financial advice and support.Assist with preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the ACIC and the AIC.Assist with monthly reporting activities including reconciliations and journal entering.Assist with the Agency’s asset management and statutory tax function.Assist with internal audits and compliance reportingAPS6 Key responsibilities:Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the ACIC and the AICManage Agency’s asset portfolios, expected to have regular liaison with business areas & peers for effective management of the assetsManage Agency’s statutory taxes and complianceManage monthly journals and reconciliationsAssist with the development of finance policiesManage internal & external audit queriesAdhoc duties as and when requested by the managersOur ideal candidateTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:Works collaboratively in a teamEngages and effectively communicates professionally with internal and external stakeholdersWell-developed organisation skills with strong attention to detail and a sound analytical abilityDemonstrated experience working in financials, spreadsheets and financial applications/softwareSound general knowledge of legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulationsTo be considered at the APS Level 6, you will also:Experience & skills in asset management practicesAnalysing and reporting non-compliances to policies and proceduresExperience in managing teamsAbility to training team & customers on financial management practices and policy compliancesDesirable qualificationsSound knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework, principles, policies and practicesAccounting or other relevant degree or qualifications (desirable)Professional memberships such as CPA or CA (desirable but not required).EligibilityCitizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity.
