An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti Discrimination Act 1977.This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, full time, part time, temporary and casual positions.The Aboriginal Health Clinician works as a key member of the newly established Assertive Case Management Team (ACM) which is a non-acute community Drug & Alcohol team who provide a comprehensive support for people who have chronic substance dependence and highly complex needs. The team provides intensive case management and holistic support to people 18 years and above where complex needs and comorbidities are impacting positive outcomes.ACM provides recovery focused support as an alternative to inpatient care and offers an assertive outreach service where clients are treated in a least restrictive environment, either in the home or centre based appointments. Clinical and cultural supervision and support will be provided by the Drug and Alcohol Service and Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service.This role is suitable for the following:- Counsellor Level 1 and 2- Welfare Officer Level 1 and 2- Social Worker Level 1 and 2- Aboriginal Health Practitioner- PsychologistAbout YouYou are of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander descent (Section 14D of the Anti-Discrimination Act).Tertiary Bachelor Degree in one of the following; Psychology, Counselling, Community Welfare, Social Work or a qualification as Aboriginal Health Practitioner (where qualification provides eligibility for professional membership of the relevant professional body e.g. AASW) plus general registration with AHPRA (where applicable).You have an understanding of the health and wellbeing issues that contribute to drug and alcohol misuse for Aboriginal people on the Central Coast.Where You’ll Be WorkingThis role requires travel to locations throughout the Central Coast region.
