We recognize the difference you bring to our business, and together we share the pride of building THE logistics company for the world.Overall Role PurposeAs a Customs Compiler, you will be required to:Prepare customs documents as required per local customs regulationsFeed data into customs operating systemProvide general administrative support to others within CustomsWorks closely with other teams to ensure open lines of communication are maintained and effective customer requests are resolvedSupporting the team as required with adhoc requirementsSets up master data for transactionsExecutes pre & post-entry work/transactionsMaintains documentation/SOPsClearance document follow upSupports/maintains operational systemsDirect liaison with customersResolves duty/tax and billing issuesConducts quality and best practice auditsManages COD paymentsExecutes back-office duties (e.g. scanning, filing, reporting)AccountabilitiesCustomer & Other StakeholdersBuilding Customer rapport knows all customer billing requirements and maintains close contact with the customerWorks closely with other teams to ensure open lines of communication are maintained.Required QualificationsPrevious experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight / Import operational roles (advantageous)Minimum two (2) years previous experience in a customs support environment or similarMinimum two (2) years previous experience in operations – Air/Ocean Freight or similar.Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics in generalPreferred SkillsHigh degree of reliabilityBe a team player with a positive can do attitude.Be result driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic.Values a diverse and inclusive work environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills and phone etiquetteAbility to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectivelyExceptional customer service skills and follow upProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and strong internet skillsExpedient software (advantageous)Why DHL Global Forwarding?Apart from a competitive hourly rate; positive & friendly team, the ability to cross train and career progression we also have some awesome Employee Benefits.
