The diversity of skills, life experiences and perspectives within our team enhances our way of working and our ability to achieve success together.About the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager Communities & Social Performance (CSP) to lead a team of CSP practitioners across our Western Cape Bauxite assets, including:Andoom operationsAmrun operationsGrowth projects in Amrun (southern region)Closure projects in East WeipaThe Weipa bauxite operations contain our largest social footprint of all operations in the Rio Tinto Aluminium portfolio. The operations cover 12 unique Traditional Owner Groups spread across the Western Cape York Perninsula region. Rio Tinto Weipa operations have three active agreements, including the Ely Agreement, WCCCA Agreement and the Weipa Town Authority Agreement. The CSP department in Weipa includes five key workstreams covering: (1) Agreements, (2) Cultural Heritage, (3) Indigenous Employment, (4) CSP Governance and (5) Projects & Closure.The Senior CSP manager will develop medium term strategies to deliver CSP excellence in line with Rio Tinto's CSP Standard (2022). The manager will provide leadership in building and maintaining meaningful relationships and partnerships both internally and externally. This role requires skills in effectively managing social risks, impacts and capability, and identifying social opportunities that can be leveraged through innovative initiatives. Cultural Heritage makes up a large proportion of the workload in the CSP Weipa department and a background in Cultural Heritage/CSP/Permits is essential for this role.Being one of Rio Tinto's senior leaders means helping to run a company that drives human progress.
