If so, the following role may be right for you…We are looking for a DV Cleared Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join the existing team in London on an initial 10 month contract, 4 -5 days in office in London.You will be required to provide DBA support on all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server including design, administration, backup/recovery, Availability Groups, deployment and real time production troubleshooting responsibilities for SQL versions SQL2014 upwards.As a Microsoft SQL Server DBA, your responsibilities include, but not limited to:Install and configure Windows Clusters, Microsoft SQL Servers and Availability GroupsMaintain and troubleshoot High Availability/DR including Windows Clustering and Always On Availability GroupsConduct root cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planningPerformance tuning of databases/queriesImplementing and managing monitoring/proactive alerting processesAutomation via SQL Server Agent and PowerShell scripting etcParticipate in key periodic operations tasks including high availability and disaster recovery testing, operating system and database patching, database upgrades and migrationsProvide comprehensive and clear documentation for all new database builds, redevelopments, enhancements, for standard operational proceduresCollaborate with Developers to architect DB solutions for core platform initiativesWorking independently and within a wider team with minimal supervisionAttending and actively participating in SCRUM ceremonies and eventsAbility to be proactive, multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environmentYouTo succeed within the role of a Microsoft SQL Server DBA, you'll have experience in a similar position and you'll have the following skills and experience:Strong knowledge of SQL Server High Availability technologies - such as Windows Clustering, Availability Groups and Distributed Availability GroupsWindows ClusteringEnterprise scale mission critical SQL Server implementations, VLDB, multiple databases with Availability GroupsImplementing and troubleshooting SQL Server High Availability groupsTroubleshooting SQL Server Database EngineRoot cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planningSQL Server migration and upgradeSQL Server backup and recoveryIndexes and StatisticsSQL Server patch managementPowerShell ScriptingGood oral and written communication skills in EnglishPlease note that due to security and urgency for this role, we can only consider those with live and transferrable DV clearance.This is an exciting opportunity to work for a global business that has developed a strategy of working closely with its contingent workforce.
