JOB TITLE: Performance Manager, London & South Region
SALARY: £56,421 - £74,290 (dependent on location & experience).
LOCATIONS: London / Southampton / Guildford / Reading / Bristol
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About This Opportunity
Our team is responsible for delivering the Financial and Non-Financial business plan for Mid Corporates (MC). The team comprises a small number of central roles, together with a geographically disbursed team of Performance Managers that play a key role in supporting the business deliver against its annual budgets and wider commitments. These teams are led by Performance Directors who work alongside Senior Executives in SMC to run the business day to day.
The Performance Manager (PM) will work in close partnership with Regional Directors and MC Relationship Managers / Directors to support them through regular performance interactions, and in identifying and delivering performance improvements that enable the region to achieve its client and financial plans.
A key part of the PM role is taking responsibility for actively managing and delivering client and budgetary commitments through ongoing performance management and oversight. A PM will do this in a way that continually seeks to improve professional standards and by helping the Regional Director to use colleague and insight tools to support our clients.
This provides an excellent opportunity to deliver the MC growth agenda and would suit colleagues looking to hone their leadership skills, build resilience and influence senior colleagues.
The role has a regional remit, and it is anticipated the holder will be located in the region spanning London & the South coast to enable them the flexibility to regularly attend team meetings.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Work closely with the Performance Director to deliver MC’s strategy, sharing best practice and focussing individually designed actions to support any specific areas identified.
  • Take ownership for supporting the delivery of MC’s Growth objectives, ensuring that these align to Group Values in terms of being Client First and demonstrating Product Agnosticism.
  • Demonstrate commerciality in supporting the Region’s asset growth objectives whilst achieving sustainable returns through the price viability of individual lending deals.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the lending pipeline and balance sheet forecasting accuracy down to Relationship Manager / Director level.
  • Proactively facilitate regular Product Partner interactions and prompting initiatives where appropriate to ensure clients benefit from the full range of the Bank's products and services.
  • Demonstrate excellent coaching skills, spending time out in the business observing behaviours and providing regular feedback as to the "quality" and "effectiveness".
  • Play a pivotal role in communicating, embedding, and supporting Relationship Managers / Directors in deriving value from key enablers and initiatives designed within the Commercial Director's office, targeted towards meeting the Mid Corporates strategy.
  • Role model all SMC professional standards and tools, being able to support and challenge their use across the Region.
  • Role model agility in the workplace by leading digital advocacy support colleagues when embedding new technology.
  • Ensure activities align with internal and external policies, standards, reporting, legal, statutory and/or regulatory requirements
