The Role : Director, Product Management, Chemicals Solutions

The Team:
Fuels Chemicals & Resources is a division of S&P Global Commodity Insights which brings together unrivalled expertise in oil markets, refined products, chemicals, agricultural products and industrial materials to provide insight and data products that informs strategic, trading and operational decisions. This role sits within the Business & Product Management group and leads a team that works closely with customers to understand requirements and ensures delivery of products that meet customer needs and aligns with business strategy.

The Impact:
In this role you will provide product management leadership for the Chemicals product portfolio, with responsibility for ensuring the continued commercial success of existing offerings, as well as develop the next generation of products. This includes the development of digital product offerings and data feeds which bring value to our customers. You will work with business functions such as research, technology, sales and marketing to define strategic priorities and develop and execute on a customer-centric roadmap that drives revenue growth. You will own the full lifecycle of product development from understanding client problems, to project management and execution, through to go-to-market and driving customer adoption. You will lead a small team of product managers.

Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities include:
Assess and size opportunities for enhancements to our Chemicals product offerings
Develop an in-depth understanding of client problems, market opportunities and the competitor environment
Define strategic priorities and create product roadmaps in collaboration with senior stakeholders
Manage all aspects of the product development process, from ideation and securing resources through to execution and go-to-market
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the research team, commercial, marketing, client services, technology, finance and other internal stakeholders in a matrixed environment. In particular you will partner with the technology organization to ensure effective execution of product priorities and work closely with the commercial team to support sales success and drive go-to-market plans
Lead a team of product managers to execute on product priorities

What We’re Looking For :Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate:
Minimum 8 years of product management experience with experience of analytical content, data and tools gained in relevant environments, e.g. industry data/analysis, B2B information, commodity trading, analytical tool development, fintech, software or a related field
Substantial experience of working with developers/engineering teams to build web-based products, software or other digital offerings
Experience in engaging with clients to understand customer industry workflows, identify unmet needs, and develop solutions to address them
Past success in developing and launching new offerings and in finding new avenues for growth for mature products
Experienced in managing teams with a focus on execution and delivering results. Experience in coaching and performance management essential.

Ideal candidates will also have:
A confident leader and strong communicator with the ability to drive execution, influence, negotiate and challenge
Excellent executive presentation skills
Strong business acumen
Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve shared goals
Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly with customers and always deliver a positive experience
Chemical or related commodity industry knowledge is not essential but is a plus

The Location: London, Houston or New York

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $117,800 to $244,700. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
