The Mobile & Voice Solution Specialist will lead on the Mobile & Voice product portfolio insight that feeds into our future Solutions roadmap, Solutions build, maintenance and enhancement. The Solution Specialist will be the “glue” between the associated Product towers and Solutions, reporting into the Solutions Director but dotting into the corresponding Product towers to ensure aligned insights, working and operating model.
This role is accountable for owning the deep 360 insight into the associated product portfolios – from understanding the product components available within those product portfolios, to understanding the future evolution of those product components and how the overarching portfolios will evolve over the coming years, to understanding the customer needs those products solve for and the commercial and market dynamic surrounding those product portfolios.
The role holder will utilise their deep product expertise to inform the Future Solutions Roadmap, ensuring that our converged product future solution offerings are built on a solid foundation of product, market, customer and commercial insight.
This role is accountable for ensuring our future solutions utilise the associated product portfolio(s) to create innovative, marketing leading solutions, working closely with colleagues across all parts of Business. The Solution Specialist will be a customer-centric thinker, with deep product expertise and an inert drive to transform and change the way we sell products. They will be the catalyst to equipping the four Sales segments of BT Business to sell outcomes and solutions, rather than solely selling products or widgets.
The role holder will aid the Solution Managers in maintaining and enhancing their live solutions based on deeper insights on the component products underpinning the solution, and the changing market / customer / commercial dynamic of those products.
The Solution Specialist will drive incremental growth for the associated product tower by driving converged solution selling across the product components within that tower.
This role works across SMB, CPS, Wholesale and Global sales segment. The associated Product towers for this role are Mobile and Voice.
What you’ll be doing

 Accountabe for building and maintaining deep product insight on the product components available within the Mobile & Voice portfolios, the customer needs that these products cater for and the future roadmap for these products
 Interfacing with their associated Product towers as a dotted line matrix, joining product meetings to maintain product insight and proximity to inform solutions
 Providing solution insights, solution lens, and driving a shift towards solution thinking within their associated product tower
 Accountable for informing the Future Solutions Roadmap with deep insight on their associated product tower and how / where we may be able to converge those product components with other product tower components
 Accountable for a 360 insight on their product tower and associated product components – understanding the customer, market and commercial dynamics and how these need to show up in any future solution
 Inform the Solution Managers on how to maintain and enhance existing solutions with future looking insight on their associated product towers
 Managing key stakeholders – particularly their associated Product Directors, their associated Digital Tribe (product tower aligned), the Strategy & Insight team (for deep product insight), the Segment Sales, Commercial and Props team (for market/customer needs proximity)
 Accountable for informing the business case for the Solutions, defining and influencing prioritisation of scope of work and journey design
 Contribute to Solutions delivering business benefits / efficiencies to meet the MTP obligations.
Key Skills

  • Deep product knowledge and expertise on the Mobile & Voice Product portfolios – understands how to leverage the technology to create differentiated and competitive solutions
  • Broad understanding of the telecoms and adjacent markets and associated commercial drivers
  • Sound understanding and expertise in Solutions Design and Delivery in particular bundled product and technology capability for single solution customer experience
  • Strong knowledge of BT Business segment customers, competitor solutions to drive value through solutions designed and delivered. Builds good understanding of where the market is heading and influences through Business products
  • Practical Agile design and delivery methodology and embedding the approach in Solution Design and Delivery
  • Experience in leading cross functional matrix teams and influencing in the absence of hierarchy
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder sklls
  • Strong negotiation skills at all levels to ensure aligned vision and direction towards a single set of strategic outcomes
  • A passion and relentless drive to create and deliver optimal solutions to market that deliver growth and customer value.
  • Knowledgeable in creating and delivering business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business plans)
  • Understanding of the strengths and gaps of our competitors and the future needs of our customers.
  • Ability to communicate and influence internally and externally across all levels of an organization.
  • Creating alignment between often conflicting stakeholder needs to deliver the solution for the customer.
