Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, committed and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to work in a challenging and dynamic unit –Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care.

This is our paediatric Critical Care unit caring for children and young people with life-threatening illnesses. You will be required to help maintain a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment within the department and provide other general duties to ensure the effective running of the department. You will have excellent interpersonal and customer care skills, the ability to prioritise your own workload and enjoy working as a team member. This is a vital role for the safe and effective running of this service which requires hard work, dedication and a passion for maintaining high standards.

We seek interested individuals who want towork in a paediatric environment with children, young people and their families.
1. To assist and support the nursing team
2. To clean equipment used by nursing and medical staff and ensure ward is restocked with equipment and supplies as required by all staff.
3. To assist with administrative and clerical/other clinical duties to ensure the effective running of the ward/department
4. To supervise support and facilitate the training of new healthcare assistants
5. To maintain own personal development with support from ward / departmental manager.
6. To assist with ordering and stock levels of non-stock items.
7. To liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard and all documentation
