Connect to your Industry

Shaping and delivering the partnership admissions process, to create a developmental and empowering experience for our partner candidates, which supports the diversity ambitions and integrity of the partnership.

This opportunity sits within our Partner Matters team, a specialist team largely talent-focused with the primary objective to deliver a differentiated, integrated experience to all our partners, from the point they become partners in the firm, to the time they retire from the partnership. This role will play a key part in managing one pillar of the team’s core portfolio – Entry to Partnership.

In this role you will drive operational excellence and execution of the partner admissions approach, partnering closely with key HR and Business stakeholders, including members from the firm’s executive. Of strategic importance, partner admissions plays a critical role in delivering our NSE Ambition and key priorities/ambitions of the UK Executive.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, that covers audit, risk advisory, and consulting services across tax, legal, business, technology and corporate finance, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

You will be responsible for planning and managing the end to end internal Partner Admissions process, in the UK geography. This will include continuous enhancement of the existing approach, driving convergence across the Businesses as well as collaboration with North and South Europe (NSE).

Flexibility will be required in the role. As part of a small team, you can expect to work across the Partner Matter’s portfolio in peak times and/or where critical deadlines are approaching, getting involved in broader projects where additional capacity and/or expertise is needed.

As a result, this is a terrific opportunity to gain a broad range of experience, working in a high-performing team, creating an exceptional experience for the most senior people in our firm.

Some key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Operational management and delivery of the partner admissions process, from establishing the approach through to the delivery and completion of the Business Selection Process, Partnership Committee Review and Partner Candidate Development Programme.
  • Reviewing, updating and refreshing all central partner admissions materials and communications to ensure they reflect our current approach.
  • Actively scoping and embedding continuous enhancements to the admissions process and ensuring Businesses and all relevant teams are fully informed, supported and engaged.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the candidate experience, invest in their development and move us forward with our inclusion goals while streamlining processes and optimising the use of technology.
  • Collaborating successfully with the range of other teams who contribute to the end-to-end delivery of this process, to drive the approach (including the Executive Office, People & Purpose, Partnership Committee, HR, Partner Finance, Partner Compliance, Partner Development, Partner Admin, ER & Ethics, and Communications).
  • Contributing to the delivery of key Executive deliverables (both presentations and reports), ensuring they reflect and align with our Business and its ambitions.
  • Integrating successfully into NSE for management of the NSE reporting requirements, sharing of best practice, and to ensure the UK approach aligns to the NSE common standard.
  • Partnering with the Partner Hiring Lead to ensure consistency in the selection criteria and approach to partner selection, both internal and lateral.
  • Actively supporting the development of the Partner Matters T1 Advisor (Entry to Partnership).
  • Working collaboratively with the new partner transitions Manager to support the delivery, where required, of an enhanced new partner transition journey.
  • Influencing others in the Partner Matters team (and beyond) as a role model and exemplar of effective leadership and teaming. Positively contribute to the team brand, culture and purpose.
  • Taking on and leading other discrete projects and ad hoc priority areas as and when they emerge during the year, whether they relate directly to the stated pillar or not.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

In addition to having relevant professional experience for the role as set out above, the individual who is successful will:

  • Have proven implementation skills, strong planning and organisational capability and a determination to get things done.
  • Have a clear focus on delivering quality in everything you do.
  • Be an outstanding collaborator who can build productive relationships across teams and engender trust and support.
  • Understand the partnership and how to be successful as an adviser to it, being credible and impactful when interacting and dealing with the firm’s most senior people.
  • Have strong communication skills – verbal and written – demonstrating quality in all that is delivered.
  • Have experience in the creation of high-quality formal deliverables (both presentations and reports).
  • Have strong analytical skills and be comfortable working with, understanding and presenting information and data.
  • Convey professional maturity, instilling confidence that they operate in sensitive environments with ease and handle highly confidential data appropriately.
  • Be genuinely resilient, comfortable and composed when working under pressure, accepting of change and be flexible in order to get the job done.
  • Be willing to learn, open to feedback and prepared to be challenged.
  • Demonstrate appropriate commercial acumen and be able to connect that to the role, the agenda, the decisions we make and the relationships that are established.

Desirable

  • Understanding of our firm and its structure (internal and market facing) with an awareness of the key features and attributes of our partnership.
