The growth these companies are experiencing – especially if it’s very fast, or much slower than expected – can be scary, and make them feel uncertain and worried. But we’re a team of experts who know how to get growth right, and we help them avoid pitfalls and grab the opportunities. We help them across all aspects of their business with their eCommerce, Trading, Talent Acquisition, CRM, Brand and Creative and – where you come in – Paid Media.


Day to day the role will involve….

Manage and grow our Marketplace function in line with the commercial ambition the business has for this function.

CLIENT FACING

  • Pitch, present, follow up and deliver proposals to potential clients to help them understand the value and expertise TGF can give to their business.
  • Demonstrate to clients the actions we will take to elevate their performance.
  • Be able to give full transparency on our workflows.
  • Establish a cadence of communication across appropriate formats to keep clients fully updated and informed of progress.
  • Produce performance plans with tangible actions - and ensure they are delivered against.
  • Additionally, show courage to alter course and pivot where needed - and keep your Produce reporting and share insights that not only shows the numbers, but gives the story of our success as well.
  • Have a clear plan and approach of being that long term growth partner.


INTERNALLY

  • Identify resource and skill gaps and work with the wider business to bring the right talent into the function, at the right time, to ensure we remain within our commercial guardrails, but without dropping service levels.
  • Take full ownership of the functional P&L and own the new business pipeline.
  • Work with other functions leads to recognise and act on cross function lead
  • opportunities.
  • Provide monthly reporting on function performance - commercial, learnings, wins & development opportunities.
  • Lead by example with a growth mindset and be comfortable to bring your own individuality into your role.
  • Develop and execute on a short, mid and long term strategy for marketplaces within The Growth Foundation, which shows commercial ambition and embodies all our values.

Your role will also include...

Overseeing the strategic planning, development and best practice execution from the team across all Paid channels including PPC, paid social, affiliate marketing and programmatic etc.) for our clients/ brands, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion, whilst also demonstrating and creating efficiencies through effective frameworks and processes, automation and platform defining, measuring, and evaluate relevant paid media KPIs for clients. You will own internal teams leading in the roll-out and improvements of all paid media practices, researching and implementing relevant industry knowledge and case studies to support this.

This will include;

  • providing strategic direction for the team’s business offerings into new areas - staying up to date with platform and industry changes, launching new platforms over time.
  • driving efficiencies across the team’s output through consistent auditing - monitoring and making changes to systems and current workflows to automate our practices further to try and generate more profits / yield from our inputs.
  • managing client growth - includes client relationships, client retention, satisfaction and loyalty obtaining feedback at regular intervals along with client temp checks, and identifying areas of opportunity to support client growth
  • performing channel specific audits to new and existing clients summarising a top level review and recommendations for growth as well as detailing proposals of team advisory/ fractional support to allow clients to drive forward and deliver the recommendations outlined
  • actively make referrals to our partner / referral network and develop strategic partnerships with key media partners and platforms/ agencies where relevant for our clients
  • building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal GF team, client base and third-party stakeholders, agencies and partners
  • being responsible for your team’s development - managing a team of three (from exec to senior manager level) you’ll work with each member to develop professional development goals and support them in achieving these through coaching, training, holding regular check ins to discuss progress as well as provide opportunities for growth within the PM team
  • working strategically and at times on an executionally level (supporting teammates where necessary) as well as mentoring and up-skilling across the client base or the internal TGF team.

About You:

You will love this role if you’re an ambitious, results driven Marketplace/Amazon expert looking for a wider scope and challenge. We’re looking for someone to be able to deliver best practice and manage a range of clients in different categories and sectors. We want someone who can be hands on and drive results, whilst also having the strategic ability to manage and scale our marketplace function. You will ultimately be accountable for the Marketplace P&L.


This role is for you if you...

  • Have great understanding of retail, ecommerce and marketing businesses
  • Have 5+ years’ experience in managing Amazon accounts, globally, including SC, VC andAMS - and bring drive, passion and fresh ideas to TGF
  • Have hands on experience using bid optimisation software and rule based optimisation methodologies
  • To be up to date with industry standard analysis software (Helium 10, Pacvue)
  • Proven track record of delivering high growth through strategic planning on Amazon
  • Commercial Acumen - strong understanding of commercial levers that can be used to help to drive profitable growth in the Amazon ecosphere. Be able to understand the link between top line performance and bottom line profit

  • Have experience in managing senior stakeholders and applying a commercial mindset
  • Are confident presenting and building relationships at board level with key stakeholders in growing, challenging businesses
  • Used to managing and working with multiple clients, understanding their needs, and identifying where we add value
