We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Operations Manager to join our management team covering the Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire regions. This position will be on a fulltime (37.5 hours per week) permanent basis. The role will be based at a registered office within the management span.
As a Regional Operations Manager you will be ultimately accountable for the performance of people in your regional area; for service delivery and managing the associated risks. Through interrogating the data available, you will know at all times whether your region is performing well or not and be able to report on this, identifying risks and the actions taken to mitigate these. You will ensure your team have the judgement and are empowered to recognise incidents of underperformance and take the right steps to address this, creating a proactive, honest and achievement driven culture.
You will play a key and active role in contributing to Mencap’s Big Plan and the PS strategy. You will be a key member of the management team, coaching individuals and teams by helping Mencap to consider ways to ensure staff are empowered to take greater control of how services are managed. You will ensure the people we support are meaningfully engaged in their local community and included in all aspects of how we manage and deliver services. You will also work to provide new opportunities for people; retain existing support contracts as well as developing a plan to ensure services are fully occupied. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and driving exciting new opportunities across the region for people with a learning disability, working alongside the Operations Director and Business Development Manager.
You will be an effective communicator with the ability to solve problems and have the confidence to make decisions, you will have excellent planning and management knowledge with sound IT and business administration skills.
