The Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) was established in 1988 and since 1991 its Headquarters have been based in Cranfield University Technology Park in Bedfordshire, one of Europe’s largest academic centres for applied research.
NTCE has branches across Europe and is one of Nissan’s centres of excellence, our UK research and development hub is home to the functions that help us design and develop the vehicles manufactured in our European plants and for European Customer vehicles produced across the world.

We are an aspiring organisation that is looking for an equally bold and creative individual to join our Advance Vehicle Planning and Layout Team.
Our Advance Vehicle Planning Team is now developing the next generation Electric Vehicles and is responsible for developing new vehicle concepts and ensuring that during the vehicle development we can achieve all the required targets and requirements and produce class leading vehicles to the market.
By following an on-the-job training plan, you will develop your skills and knowledge to enable you to support of our Vehicle Planning Team. The plan will include the following:
Vehicle development and planning knowledge.
Vehicle systems and components design.
Customer-focused engineering.
Styling development.
CAD 3D modelling.
Working with various departments across the business.
Opportunities to visit NMUK manufacturing plant and NDE styling design studio.
We’re looking for applicants with an enthusiastic attitude in motor vehicles and engineering design.
It’s important that you are an effective communicator, both written and verbal, who enjoys working with others. An adaptive learner, with a technical drawing aptitude and critical thinking skills. This role also lends itself to a person who is a logical thinker with strong IT skills.
Throughout your apprenticeship at Nissan, you will be surrounded by a supportive team who will be strongly invested in your development as an apprentice.

The starting salary is £ 17,995 per year and there's the opportunity for increase every 6 months based on performance!

Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
1 x A level or 2 x AS Levels Grade C or above in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) or a Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline
Good practical engineering skills an advantage.
A full UK Drivers Licence or you can demonstrate a commitment to get your licence during your apprenticeship.

Training to be Provided
In collaboration with MK College, you will undertake a comprehensive 5-year Apprenticeship scheme and training programme to develop your Advance Vehicle Planning / Layout skills and knowledge. During this period, you will also at the same time work with the Advance Vehicle Planning Team on current and future vehicle developments.
You will be based at our Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire 4 days per week.
Attend college on day-release to obtain the following:
Practical Skills Level 2
Advanced Level 3 Engineering Design & Draftsperson Apprenticeship
HND – Engineering Advanced
Produce and maintain supplementary documentation, to support layout studies and styling feedback.
Opportunity to benchmark Global Automotive Industry Standards to ensure future Nissan Vehicles remain competitive.
Future Prospects
Following the successful completion of your apprenticeship you will join the NTCE Advance Vehicle Planning Team as a Vehicle Layout Engineer. This opens the exciting opportunity for you to develop through demonstration of performance and aptitude through the levels of the company with the real potential of being able to lead the team as a Senior Engineer in the future. Your skill set will also open a wide range of other opportunities in the Nissan business to develop both sideways and upwards.
