The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

What will you be doing?
Working as part of a team supporting, enhancing and developing risk management within the Institutional Securities Group Finance (ISGF) organisation. Additionally, you will build relationships with various colleagues within ISGF, Global Corporate Controllers (GCC), the wider Finance organisation and Senior Management to meet the team objectives and deliverables. You will be responsible for:
    Assist global colleagues across product divisions in the execution of operational risk related work.
    This will include a wide range of deliverables for financial regulators and internal risk clients, where the successful candidate will add significant value to the risk agenda of these programs.
    Proactively identify opportunities across the global ISGF organization for risk reduction and create control solutions.
    Oversee all Operational Risk incidents impacting ISGF; draft incident summaries, provide incident briefing and insight to senior ISGF risk and management personnel.
    Monitor and provide guidance on risk reducing projects and tactical remediation.
    Manage the ISGF Business Continuity Plan (BCP), as well as a wide range of Information Security (InfoSec) related items.
    Track and produce reporting metrics in relation to ISGF's overall risk framework.
    Liaise with other finance risk professionals to identify best practice controls and implementation.
Where will you be working?
This role is based at our Glasgow office on Waterloo Street in the city center. This location has a wellness center, including gym and shower/changing facilities, GP, Prayer room, Canteen and onsite Starbucks.

QUALIFICATIONS

What we’re looking for:
  • A rounded commercial approach to reporting and controllership, with proven skills in chasing issues through many layers to discover root causes
  • Confidence in building and managing relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders and business areas
  • Strong communication and escalation skills
  • An ability to self-manage workload effectively whilst balancing multiple deliverables and priorities appropriately
  • Ability to be highly numerate with a close attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, organizational and documentation skills
  • A strong commitment to self-development
  • Flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Relevant degree/equivalent experience
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Relevant work experience in the financial services industry/prior product control experience or experience in Operational Risk or Controls Testing
