Job summary

This position is located within the RAO Department at The Army Training Centre Pirbright. It is a role that offers challenges and high engagement with all Permanent Staff and Recruits across the establishment. ATC (P) is an exciting and fast paced place to work that has exciting opportunities and the department provide pivotal support to all members of personnel.

The CTC Checking Clerk is responsible for the delivery of CTC and the monitoring of SC and DV clearances for all Rcts in ATC(P) and ATR(W).

This role acts as a dual role to provide admin support to the RAO Department as and when required.

The Army Training Centre (Pirbright) are seeking a dedicated and diligent candidate to support the delivery of the Counter Terrorism Checks (CTC) for new recruits entering the Army. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and a proven experience in the delivery of administrative processes within a fast-paced environment.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

  • Act as the sponsor for all CTC clearance for new recruits

  • Initiate and activate all online CTC applications with the National Security Vetting (NSV) Agency

  • Assist applicants through the process to ensure the all forms are fully complete and documents verified

  • Be flexible to accommodate recruits’ applications within the working day

  • Communicate regularly with Sub Unit staff to ensure the programme is adhered to and all relevant recruits are seen in a timely manner

  • Hasten all missing information for incomplete applicants with recruits, to ensure the details are received within the specified timeline in compliance with NSV guidelines

  • Continually monitor the CTC pipeline for all applications until finalised

  • Distribute CTC certificates to the PVRO for Phase 2 upon receipt and file

  • Maintain CTC spreadsheet to record progress and updates to the higher 1* formation

  • Data interrogation to assist with the CTC process in a timely manner

  • Visit ATR Winchester upon their intakes, to complete the same processes as above and monitor their applications through to completion

  • Work alongside members of the RAO Department to provide cover and support as and when required. This can include helping with Pay, Discharges, Enlistments, Leave and Movements etc.

  • Be flexible to assist with additional administrative processes within the Cell and the department

Person specification

The successful candidate must have good communication skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Package mainly, Outlook, Excel and Word. The candidate must have Security Clearance for this position which can be applied for as part of the on boarding process.
