We currently have a position available for an adaptable, forward thinking strategist to guide transformational thinking within Ofgem and across the energy sector, ensuring we continue to protect consumer interests through an unprecedented period of energy volatility, whilst simultaneously enabling the net zero future.

Working within the Strategy and Decarbonisation Directorate, the role involves structuring and delivery of key projects to support strategic direction across Ofgem’s remit, collaborating on effective solutions, and delivering clear recommendations on key issues facing the sector. You will be tasked with managing crucial strategic initiatives, building organisational expertise and keeping abreast of sector developments.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the response to the energy crisis and the transition to net zero.

You’ll be able to demonstrate a proven track record of being proactive and driving strategic projects, utilising evidence. Ideally, we’re looking for someone with a good understanding of the energy sector and the trajectory towards net zero, and strong analytical abilities.

A skilled collaborator and communicator, you’ll be able to build strong working relationships, and clearly and concisely connect with a range of senior internal and external stakeholders through quality presentations; written work and use of analysis. You will operate within a dynamic high-performing team environment, supported by and providing support to colleagues.

We’re looking for someone who can deliver simultaneous projects, making effective decisions and proactively managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strategic and analytic thinking across complex ideas, with a drive to translate ideas into action.

If you’re a proactive and focused strategist, ready to play a key role in shaping the future of the energy sector, we’d love to hear from you.

Ofgem provides a flexible work environment, enabling individuals to effectively balance their professional and personal commitments. We offer exceptional opportunities for professional and personal development.
