Your role in a nutshell

We are recruiting an experienced Fragrance expert for our Global HQ in London Bridge (hybrid working).

The successful candidate will manage and execute:

Multiple fragrance development projects for different categories

Ensure that fragrances will support launch commitments with safety, quality, suitability, sustainability, timing and costs.

Ensure the fragrances development captures the brand essence and requirements for a superior sensorial performance and brand differentiation

More about the role

Lead all relevant areas of fragrance development from the marketing brief to the production:

• Brief fragrance houses to develop the best fragrance in terms of quality, performance, innovation and price.
• Ensure appropriate flow of information and samples in time from fragrance houses with laboratories and vendors.
• Anticipate fails and set mitigation plans when relevant.
• Ensure fragrance approvals in final bases & sign-off on timely manner.
• Regular assessment on stability samples for fragrance performance.
• Prepare fragrance application samples for internal evaluations.
• Create, send and compile all official documents
• Inform key internal partners on the progress of the project
• Lead technical discussions and implement solutions around fragrance related topics: issues, raw materials, regulatory, compliancy, TBS guidelines, fragrance dossier, CLP guidelines for home fragrances, naturality, biodegradability & sustainability guidelines.
• Working together with experts, regulatory, safety assessors & external testing houses for Fragrance RM safety matters and claims substantiations through functional fragrances and clean labelling requirements.
• Propose fragrance innovations and map trends, presenting opportunities to the brand and engaging internal teams.
• Analyse data, trends, performance and prepare reports to management when required.
• Maintain fragrance library with wide olfactive options which is readily available for proposals for fast track projects.

What we look for

Experience in similar role in the industry (finished products and/or fragrance houses)

Lab formula making / application / understanding fragrance, formula raw materials and manufacturing processes experience

Good experience on fragrance regulations (IFRA guidelines, fragrance compliance & regulatory requirements)

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Sciences or equivalent

PhD level in Cosmetics Research is a differential

In-depth knowledge of the profession: Olfactive and Training skills (certificates are differentials)
