Job Title: Storeperson
Location: Cleshar Depot – Unit 2, 22 Wotton Road, Kingsnorth Industrial Estate, Ashford, Kent, TN23 6LW
Department / Contract no. Network Rail
Main Purpose of the role:
To learn all aspects of Warehouse and Stores and to assist with the provision of a quality Warehouse and Stores service.
Reporting to: Depot Operations Manager
Key Relationships: Stores/Depot Team, Labour
Hours of work
As required by the relevant contract you have been engaged to provide services for with Cleshar
Role and Responsibilities
As a Stores/Depot Assistant you will…
- Manage PPE and Consumables stores
- Control PPE and Consumables stock
- Raise PPE and Consumables orders with procurement/suppliers
- Receive deliveries of PPE and consumables
- Load/unload vans with PPE and consumables
- Sort and resolve issues or query’s with suppliers
- Place Enquires with suppliers by phone and by email for rates and pricing for PPE, Consumables and Plant.
- Answer phone calls and email enquiries from internal and external sources
- General admin and filling
- Maintain accurate records written and electronic
- Ensure stores are tidied daily/nightly
- Weekend standby, night stores standby
- Assist where necessary the Depot Operations Manager
- Help Plant department
- Help Fleet department
- Draw up and issue monthly and weekly and daily reports(vehicle weighing /service due/ Hub and Grease, ECT)
- Draw up data and graphs to support reports
- PATs testing
- NCR reporting
- Book plant and safety critical equipment, out and in on company systems (relevant training given)
- Assist in the recall of plant and safety critical equipment in line with reports by email and phone
- Check plant register for out of date plant
- Check plant from external hire companies
- Assist with parcel delivery’s received at the depot
- Forklift driving
- Assist where requested with the 24hr Hub phone by monitoring alongside your duties
- Carry out any other reasonable duties that are within the capability of the post holder that are required by the company
- Any other duties as directed by Supervisor
- Participate in company provided training
- Comply with all HSQE requirements
- Any issues or grievances to be reported in the first instance to the Depot Operations Manager

- Be familiar with all safety requirements relevant to your post
- Lead in the effective communication & implementation of safety related initiatives that apply to the works under your control
- Attend client and company safety meetings/briefings as required, ensuring full attendance from your team (s) where you have responsibility to do so
- Comply with fatigue management guidelines
Data Processing
- Identify your portfolio/department GDPR Lead and receive a briefing on GDPR as it applies to your activities.
- Ensure the application of good GDPR practices, in line with the company’s GDPR policies, procedures & processes, at all times
- Immediately report any suspected GDPR data breach to you portfolio/department GDPR Lead or Head of Human Resources (HR)

- To be professional and present a positive image of CCS at all times
- Fulfil time keeping and attendance expectations
- Confident in presenting ideas
- Ability to liaise with all levels of the business
- Good skills on Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on Excel
Qualifications and Certifications
Desirable (D)
- Able to commit to a course of study and achieve, as a minimum, NVQ Level 2, in Warehouse and Stores.
