The Technical Project Manager is accountable for the delivery of the HVDC PDG scope of work for a project in strict accordance with the cost, time and technical requirements of that project and in-line with any operational processes that the project may utilise as part of its execution.
This shall be achieved through the efficient management of the PDG resources allocated to the project and by the application of the processes coming from the relevant PDG functions, whilst always working in close collaboration with the PDG functional leaders towards the common objective of successful project delivery.
This person is accountable for overall HVDC engineering activities, manages engineering budget, defines the quality plan, implements change management process, supervises and leads all HVDC PDG engineering activities required to execute the project, whether in house or by suppliers/subcontractors.

Manage and deliver the HVDC PDG scope of work for a project focusing on the close adherence to the global time schedule of HVDC PDG engineering scope, ensuring the coherency of links between engineering activities, PDG procurement activities and other project functions activities (procurement, construction, commissioning) and anticipate and mitigate project delivery issues of concerned activities.

Carry our regular and thorough reviews of the progress and delivery of the PDG scope of work assessing all aspects of the project, including time, cost, quality, and risks.

Prepare and deliver a comprehensive project report as part of the governance of the PDG and as part of the reporting process for the overall project. This shall be done at least monthly.

Ensure that the provided resources are used efficiently and working in accordance with the established processes via rigorous and open collaboration with the PDG functions

Plan and manage technical interfaces, put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third-party contractors.

Accountable for project delivery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery and budget for PDG scope including with suitable quality of partner documents.

Providing leadership and supporting solution engineer to ensure the reference solution and the agreed gaps are delivered in accordance with the project technical specifications and rigorously enforcing the change process and policy on any deviations

Leading and directing project team to deliver PDG engineering scope according to DOR and manage in conjunction with project team day to day activities

Motivate and empower project engineering team, insights and rewards to the team and provide feedback on project team to their respect functional managers during performance reviews.

Assess risks including risk mitigation plans and keep up to date risk register

Conduct project risk review meeting and update risk register with mitigation plan when required

Request / attend Customer technical meetings when needed/upon request

Check effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimization in all design phase and mainly during basic design

Integrate EHS requirements based on project Strategy and deploy HAZID (Hazard identification) sessions at different project phases. Actively participates in defining corrective actions when work is unsafe or when an uncontrolled risk is observed.

Apply Design subcontracting process and support Sourcing and Procurement in the definition of the Supplier’s list, in the equipment ITO and FAT procedure review, and during post order stage according to the project strategy

Support site organization during site preparation and throughout construction and commissioning stage, when required

Organize input data acquisition for O&MM & As built

Organize Engineering project teams ROE according to unit process

Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes defined at Unit, project level, and in EMH and Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner

Engineering degree level or equivalent education in Electrical Engineering

Extensive experience (of which 2 to 4 projects in a position of Project Engineering Manager) - managing medium set projects, across several project contexts (technology, scope, contract environment) in EPC type environment in T&D, Power Gen or Oil & Gas industry

Mastering of involved discipline (process, tools, technical aspects) and successful experience in management of multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries

Willingness to travel in different locations for very short period (for example a week) and to travel worldwide.

Fluent in English and Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to succinctly communicate complex messages
