We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychology Assistant to join our private specialist ADHD/ASD clinic in the heart of Cheshire. We specialise in providing discreet, comprehensive, and personalised services to adults, children and families. Sanctum offers a specialist psychiatry led service delivered face to face or online. Our muti-disciplinary diagnostic team have specialist experience of assessing and supporting individuals with ADHD and ASD and we pride ourselves on providing an innovative model that surpasses the speed, accuracy and level of care to our private patients in the community.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: A Sanctum Psychology Assistant typically has a wide range of responsibilities which enables the delivery of outstanding patient centered care. The psychology Assistant will be supported to deliver the psychological screening, assessment and appropriate intervention under the supervision of a qualified specialist consultant Psychiatrist to both our patients and their families/carers. They will participate in the evaluation of patients care and treatment at Sanctum and assist in clinically related administration, audits, research, evaluation and collection of outcome measures. They will also work independently according to a plan agreed with the Consultant psychiatrist and within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures.

- You will work as a key member of the Multidisciplinary clinical team which would usually consist of working with highly skilled GPs, mental health nurses, CAMHs specialists, NMPs, dietitians, social workers, psychologists and coaches under the supervision of the specialist consultant psychiatrist. This Psychology Support Assistant role will see you working to assist the supportive clinical and psycho-educational environment for our private patients.
- Contributing to multidisciplinary discussions about a client's diagnosis, treatment, risk assessment and care plan issues
- undertaking specific behavioural /emotional observations and assessments
- seeking and acquiring specific information by reading notes, investigating histories and gathering collateral information etc
- carrying out specific treatment and intervention programmes with patients or groups of patients
- working with patients carers, relatives and others involved in their care including mental health workers

- Maintain clear written records, draft reports, letters and summaries of assessments and observations of treatments. You'll usually work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which will typically include psychologists (clinical, counselling, forensic or health), social workers, occupational therapists, mental health nurses and psychiatrists.

- Provide guidance & encouragement through psycho-educataion and emotional support
- Learn about individuals’ specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
- Report on medical & welfare needs as required and assist with medical & welfare needs
- Comply with Risk assessments and Safeguarding policies.

Required work experience:
- Experience of working within a MDT providing mental health support for adults, children / young people and their families would be an advantage
- Experience working with neurodivergent patients and presenting comorbidities e.g addiction, mental health difficulties, trauma, relationship and eating difficulties would be beneficial
- Experience of delivering psychologically-informed individual or group sessions with people with mental health difficulties / neurodivergence / learning disabilities
Essential Skills criteria:
- An excellent communicator verbal and written at all levels and be a good team player, following processes and policies whilst taking leadership when required.
- Have a sound knowledge of psychological theory, an interest in how people think and behave and the ability to relate to a wide range of people including patients and colleagues. You'll need to be patient and sympathetic.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 2:1 in psychology or equivalent qualification which provides eligibility for graduate basis for chartered membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
