The Role
We are looking for a HR Policy Associate to join us!
You will be joining the policy team at an exciting time as we begin to review the suite of HR policies and procedures that shape FCA employees’ experience of working for the organisation.
The HR Strategy and Policy and Delivery department sits within the Human Resource function of the FCA.
The Human Resources (HR) division is made up of several expert teams whose role it is help the FCA achieve its people vision. We enable and support management in everything people-related throughout a person’s time at the FCA. From attracting talented individuals, welcoming them to the organisation through our induction, helping them grow and develop, listening to their views through our surveys, rewarding and recognising great performance and helping to build an inclusive culture. We also support senior management when they are making FCA-wide decisions to ensure the full range of people matters are front and centre when making these complex decisions.
What does the role involve?
Support the review, development and drafting of a suite of innovative and engaging HR policies, procedures, which are user friendly, consistent in style and are effective in supporting managers and colleagues across the FCA
Maintain key business facing documents such as the Employee Handbook
Monitor and report on HR policy controls
Support HR policy evaluation activities
Provide support to other HR colleagues in answering complex policy queries
Support and lead the production of toolkits, guidance notes, template letters and frequently asked questions to support the successful embedding of newly launched policies
Support the Senior Associate to strengthen the HR policy controls and control framework
Keep up to date with and apply best practice knowledge of the end-to-end employee lifecycle and relevant external developments to ensure that our policies and procedures are “best in class” and support a positive employee experience
Maintain the FCA suite of employment contracts
Monitor the HR policy team programme plan and risks

Skills/Experience Required
Minimum
We’re a signatory to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme. Experience of developing policies, procedures, and guidance
Experience of relationship and stakeholder management and the ability to motivate stakeholders to action
Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
Essential
Building relationships across the division and the wider organisation
Thinking creatively about HR policy and be curious about emerging trends and best practice within other organisations
Aligning activities to contribute to wider organisational priorities. Remain alert to emerging issues and trends which might impact your work area
Drawing on a variety of data sources and techniques when analysing data, identifying root causes and key issues
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Tailoring communication styles based on audience and purpose
Working autonomously and to project timelines, escalating problems and barriers using a pragmatic, solutions-based approach where possible
Interpreting and applying a knowledge of employment law
Evaluating the pros and cons of proposals, considering lessons learnt as well as benefits and risks
Delivering clear, concise and evidence based policy recommendations
Seeking and acting on feedback from others toward personal and professional development
Desirable
Experience of HR policy development and implementation would be beneficial
A keen interest in project management and risk management
Willingness to flex approach or tasks to support other colleagues

Useful Information
The FCA has a national role and is committed to a national footprint. This role can be based in London, Leeds and Edinburgh. The FCA has London and National Pay ranges to reflect regional differences. The base salary range for this role is up to £50,000 per annum in London and up to £47,000 in Leeds and Edinburgh, plus an additional flexible allowance. Our competitive flexible benefits scheme gives you the opportunity to create a personalised benefits package, tailored to suit your lifecycle. You can use this allowance to purchase additional benefits such as dental or cycle to work or you have the option top up your base salary by taking this as cash.
